In our family, we strive to find a balance with work and life. We’ve both had high pressure corporate jobs which can end up taking over. And, whilst we love what we do, it’s important to remember what matters to both of us; mainly spending time together, with our friends and family and appreciating the simple things in life.
For as long as I can remember, Kombi’s have provided us with the ability to escape from the ‘noise’. And as we usually debate whether or not we can afford the time to go away, we realise the answer is on our doorstep with our kombi Pyxie. As soon as we pack a bag and some wine and arrive at our destination, we breathe in the fresh air around us and sit together watching a different world go by with eyes that are open to the real world.
Of course, it’s much easier to do what we always do at home and get caught up in the usual cycle of housekeeping, laundry, shopping, cleaning, and facebook, but some weekends we decide it can wait. In this digital age it’s so easy to get stuck into a smart device, get lost into a web of web or disappear down a youtube rabbit hole for hours, forgetting that, whilst essential, this time spent isn’t what balances us with the demands of work – in fact often it adds to the pressure to keep up.
Last weekend, we had one of those ‘do we don’t we’ moments. And having taken the plunge, was reminded of the simplicities and happiness of life we experienced with our Kombi Pyxie. In just two days, these included watching whales from the shore, admiring the brilliance of a Jacaranda tree sparkling against the background of an incoming storm, and holding hands with a glass of wine watching the sunset. For us, these are the opportunities that continue to liberate us through Kombi ownership.
Easy for us? Actually no. As crazy as it sounds, achieving balance takes commitment and determination from both of us and, sometimes we falter. But in our best attempts to succeed, we book our trips away in weekends for the next three months and lock them into our diaries to ensure we stay connected to each other and the world around us.
So when we say we help people to realise dreams through kombi ownership, we really mean it. It can be an absolute life changer if you’re truly ready for a change.
Ask yourself, what could you be doing differently to get your balance back in check?
